For a person who loves to cook, a good kitchen is the ‘heart of a home’. But, as every good cook knows, the kitchen has to be functional.
This client loves to cook and entertain family and friends. But the family kitchen just didn’t provide them the space or functionality they needed. So, when they decided to put an addition on their home, they knew it was time to make their kitchen the kind of place that would truly become the ‘heart of their home’.
The ultimate goal was to provide more living area while expanding the kitchen and melding the old and new together. The staff at ITI construction proposed an addition to accommodate their living space requirements along with a complete upgrade and expansion of the existing kitchen. In addition, it was import to flow the newly constructed and renovated spaces with the rest of the home.
The existing kitchen and dining room were combined to create a newer, larger kitchen. A second circulation area was added to enhance the flow of the old home to the new.
The new kitchen dimensions would only allow for a 21 1/2 feet long and 9 feet wide new kitchen area so the design challenge began.
The new kitchen now provides a functional, expanded working area and a seamless transition from the older part of the house, to the new addition. But, most importantly, the Eldabbah’s new kitchen provides them the ‘heart of the home’ that they have always dreamed of.
